Relocations and In Take
Our Cats after Release
Tribute to Puddy
Phone Calls/Emails You Don’t Want to Get
Relocations and In Take: Only 3 placed this week. Was unable to get a placement scheduled for 6
and hope it gets done this week. When a
scheduling conflict occurs, I have probably already agreed to take in cats to
replace the ones going out….then, if those do not go out…a bottleneck occurs
and I have CATS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!

Our Cats after Release:

Argyle: I picked up equipment there this week. This was to help someone with 2 outside cats
who was moving out of state. A friend
offered to keep them and then set up the first using some caging she had. WELL – you can probably guess that that cat
got out one of the first nights after placement. So, when it was time for the second cat, I
took caging. Here is the good
news: The first cat has returned to be
with her sister. YEAH!
Tribute to Puddy:
Puddy was a small, buff cat
that originally came from the Garland Hoarders on October 1st of
2009. What a kind, sweet soul! Puddy was “older than dirt” when we got her
from that filthy house where they kept the cats in rabbit cages. Of the 22 we rescued, 7 were feral and the
rest were friendly. 6 of the ferals went
to a barn in McKinney. One is still
here…Rambo….big orange and white with “bedroom” eyes. A tortishell, Tinker, is the current “Queen
of the Cat Room”. Puddy decided right on
that she wanted to be in the guest room and sleep with me. Puddy, Tinker, and Mr. Crinkles were
friendly but so old that no adoption group would take them. Mr. Crinkles passed away last June. Puddy was losing weight for no apparent
reason. Her blood work was reasonably
good for an elderly cat. I decided to
just take one day at a time. Wednesday
night she began vocalizing – making weird noises…crying out – and Thursday was
having trouble getting on and off the bed. You know – they will tell you when it is “time”. Puddy passed at about 1:30 Thursday
afternoon. RIP Miss Puddy!
Phone Calls/Emails You Don’t Want to Get:
·
Did not have any
really weird calls/emails this week except for (it seems like) millions of cats
that need to be placed. I agreed to take
3 from Mount Pleasant, TX but they have found another avenue for those 3
cats. I’m OK with that, for sure. I am waiting for 8 from Tyler and 4 from
Babes Restaurant in Frisco.
Thanks for following the
Barn Cat Blog. See you next week. Peg
