Our Cats after Release:
Annetta:  These 3 orange tabby guys (Barry, Randy, Rudy) are being elusive but one was seen the morning that I was there to pick up the equipment.
Weatherford:  Little bad news here – Charlie and Nathan (two black brothers) were relo’ed here. One went into liver shut down and died about 2 months after relo. The other soon passed away, too. SO SORRY! Other cats of the property are fine.
Flower Mound:  Simba, Frank, and George are doing well there.
Royce City:  Chadwick was a Katrina kitten and is now 7 or 8 years old. His owner passed away and I placed him as a single in a barn in Royce City. He is “warming” up to the people but he was probably not around many folks other than the elderly lady that was his previous owner.  They are keeping him in the barn until he gets used to them.
Sanger – Beth, Liz, and Morgan were placed here. I saw the torti, Beth, in the rafters of the barn.  Morgan was seen that morning – so assume that Liz is around also.

Beth in Sanger
Frank - the tack room is air conditioned, so he loves the concrete floor!

Two Tabbies in Melissa

Phone Calls/Emails You Don’t Want to Get:
I was wondering when this was going to happen. We always get calls from organizations doing rescue of animals in disaster areas and Moore, Oklahoma is not that far away. The call came this week. I took in 6 on Friday from the shelter in Norman. A volunteer was coming to Dallas to visit relatives and offered to bring down the cats. GREAT!  …except his air conditioning in his truck began to fail as he passed over the Red River into Texas. He called and I met him in Sanger for the “cat swap”. If additional requests come in, I may just make the trip myself. It was quite the task to figure out what paperwork goes with what cat and I may not have it done correctly. The rabies certificates have partial or no description of the cats….so….9 lb male gray just does not work. One just said tabby….there is a tabby and white – but is this correct? There were two that said GRAY – there is no solid gray but two gray and white cats. One is a Siamese mix, one is a black/white, and another is a gray torti -- but none of the paperwork lists these descriptions. Geez!

BMG:
Once again, I am having trouble getting people to call me back from emails. They do not respond to a reply email or a phone message (if they listed a phone number) and/or a text. The only thing I have not tried is SMOKE SIGNALS or CARRIER PIGEONS – guess that is next!  There are 3 requests that fall into this category:  Caddo Mills plus two others that did not even list a town. PEOPLE:  Work with me! If you need cats, we are here to help out and the service is FREE!
Thanks for following the Barn Cats blog.  See you next week!           Peg
