This was the first time we have set caging in the back of a stationary 18-wheeler truck.  It is a great place for some cats with a window at the front for them to go in and out.  This is in Muenster.  We put 4 cats here and then put 6 cats at their other property in Forestburg in an old house.

March Close-out:  We placed 79 in 7 North Texas counties:
Collin                   Denton                    Ellis
Fannin                 Grayson                  Rockwall          Wise

Our Cats after Release:      Picked up equipment in 2 locations this week.
1.      Prosper:  Billy and Emerald went to this backyard.  Emerald has been seen but Billy is being illusive.  Hope he begins to show himself!
2.      Adoption:  Remember Mikey who was living at an Executive Inn in Mesquite?  Well, I traded him to a rescue group.  This week he got a safe, in-door home with a “lovely women who has another cat”.  WAY TO GO, MIKEY!
3.      Gunter Update:  All 3 cats taken to this location have all hung out.  “The white one comes out every evening at dusk and hangs out with my black and white outside cat.  They run up and down the interior fence line.  We see the long haired tabby in the tack room a lot up in her bed.  The tabby and white runs out of the barn every morning when we go in to feed the cats and donkeys.”  Great news!
4.      Corinth:  Diesel went to this garage/backyard in Corinth.  He will be a friend for Fred.  They are making themselves at home and catching come rays on the back porch.

Calls/EMAILS You Don’t Want to Get:  Safe Barn – Cats Not Around
The barn in Bartonville has lost 2 out of the 3 cats we put there.  They may have gone to a neighbor’s barn but who knows.   These folks have 3 or 4 donkeys, a safe barn to hang out, and a feeder/waterer.  Well, it is cat logic, I guess because I certainly don’t understand.
BMG:  The Only Good Coyote is a Dead Coyote
We encourage all our barn owners to get a donkey, Great Pyrenees dog, or a llama for coyote control.  Well – someone in Grayson County (not one of our folks) is still using the “hang up the dead coyote” method to keep them away.  GROSS!

OMG:  Best March Ever
We just had our best March ever (79) preceded by our best February ever (73).  Looking like a great year for Barn Cats!   Thanks to all the volunteers and barn owners for helping us have a fabulous year.
Thanks for following the Barn Cats blog.  See you next week!           Peg
