Funny Stuff
Then Nancy and I were leaving
a barn location north of Weatherford, we came across this sign for Toto,
TX. Wonder if there is a Dorothy, TX or
Tin Man, TX, or Scarecrow, TX or Oz, TX…???
Bad Calls/EMAILS:
Unwanted Kittens
I woman’s daughter brought
home 3 kittens. The woman tossed them
outside and now they are a year old. She
never wanted them – so why did the daughter leave them there? GEEZ!
Now she is moving and has quit feeding the 3 now cats (not sterilized,
no shots) and tells a friend “They don’t look good” – WHAT? I called back the friend and asked if the
woman would even cooperate to get us the cats and/or give them to the
friend. She said she did not know and
called her to find out. WELL – the daughter
is taking one of the cats and the new owners of the property want the other two
– THANK GOD!
BMG: Rain – Mud – More Rain!
I
have never seen this much rain in our 13 years doing Barn Cats. The lakes that were 8 feet to 40 feet down
are now releasing water because they are too full. We have to be very careful because these
country roads can sometimes wash out. We
have had to do a “course correction” because a bridge was gone! Water, water everywhere! Thank goodness for the Map App or we would
still be sitting there trying to figure out a way around it. This sign means more that even now…Turn
Around, Don’t Drown!
OMG: UPDATE: Lost Cat in
Plano
We placed a friendly cat
in a backyard in Plano in August of 2013.
He was found Thursday night during a really bad storm and taken to an
emergency clinic. He is microchipped so
the original person who gave us the cat was notified and he was picked up. Now the weird stuff begins: The adopter’s phone goes directly to
voicemail and she is not responding to test messages. I don’t know what else to do except go over
to her house. Maybe she is out of town
or a family member is in the hospital or something…??? We have been having many severe thunderstorms
and/or tornados in the DFW area for the last week or so and they will continue
all next week. Wish I was out of town!
UPDATE: YES – owner was out of the country. She returned on Thursday this week and
Jackson is now home safe and sound!
