Seeking someone to
take over Barn Cats, Inc.: I would like to officially
retire as Executive Director in 2019. I
can retain the fundraising pieces but would like to stop the relocations,
equipment pickups, phone calls, and emails…the day-to-day stuff. I will be available for consultation. If interested call or email Barn
Cats…972-315-2875 info@barncats.org

Our Cats after Release:
1.
Double Oak: Randy and Ronny went
to this backyard shed. Ronny took off
but Randy is still around. They asked
for another cat – this time more friendly.
I took Thor there. Hope everyone
learns to be friends. We shall see… UPDATE: Thor worked out great and has brought home a
dead rat! The family is happy!
2.
Van Alstyne: Diamond went to
this backyard in an Van Alstyne neighborhood.
She is doing great and has not left the patio. The family says “We love her!”
3.
Van Alstyne: Larry and Eden went
to this workshop next to the family home.
Both have been spotted and seem to be doing well.
Calls/Emails: Two Friendlier Orange Tabbies
There
were two brother orange tabbies at the Flower Mound shelter. I received a call from the director asking me
to take these two brothers. I did that
on Monday and immediately put them in a backyard in Double Oak. This weekend I received an email from a
person with a rescue group that was going to adopt those two brothers. OK – I always think they are better in a
safe, indoor home -- BUT – why didn’t she put a hold on them? Don’t know if I can get them back now…update
next week.
BMG: Friendly or Feral – Evaluations in Shelters
This
seems to be happening more and more: A
cat is marked FERAL at a shelter then given to Barn Cats. When released at the barn site, the cat
becomes “friendly”. The people asked for
FERAL and now the cat is following them around and wants all kind of
attention. THIS WEEK one of those cats
has clawed window screens wanting to come into the house. Now I am getting him back. Hummmmm!
OMG: Crack in the Windshield
I
took three cats to the Anna Elder Care Center on Friday morning. On the way back, the windshield was hit by a
rock and – CRACK! It hit the edge which
broke the seal. I called Sam Pack Ford
when I noticed it and my service representative said, “Haven’t we done this
before?” YES – sorry – not my
fault. It will be fixed on Wednesday
this next week.
Anna Elder Care Center: Bitzi
On
Friday, I took 3 additional cats to Anna:
Jeffy-Jeffy, Crinkles, and Petey.
All three will be took hard to handle/treat as I get older and so do
they! Bitzi had gone there a week or so
ago. She had been reclusive UNTIL
Jeffy-Jeffy and Crinkles arrived. “Bitzi,who
has been hiding since she got here, is out and about happy as can be loving on
Jeffy and Crinkles both. She is all over
the place, playing and meowing happily.”
AHHHHHH! Thanks for the update!
Thanks for following the Barn Cats BLOG. See you next week! Peg
