Calls/Emails: Friendly Cat in
Lancaster - UPDATE
Received
a call from a lady who was having to put her father in an assisted living
facility. A friendly cat had shown up
there many months before and now would be abandoned. Also, the daughter has a terminal
illness. His name is Meow-Meow and is a
brown tabby. I told her I would take him
but she would have to deliver him to the vet we use in Coppell. She did that on Monday. He tested negative and now is loose in my
house waiting for an opening at Petco.
Glad I could help – the cat deserves it!
UPDATE: Meow-Meow is still with me. There has not been an opening yet at Petco.
UPDATE: He is going to Petco on Monday, July 1st!!!!! All good news!!!!
OMG: Call from Minnesota
I
received a phone call that a lady was visiting friends in the Dallas area. She lives in Minnesota. She had her cat in the friend’s garage and all
was OK. They took out the car and not
knowing it the cat was underneath. It
ended up somewhere at a shopping in Dallas.
They were unable to find her. She
returned home without the kitty. Now she
was received a call and text with a picture that the cat has been found in the
DFW area. She was looking for someone to
go trap or get the cat contained then board it with a local vet clinic until
she can return in a month. WOW – out of
my wheelhouse for sure. I gave her some
phone number of trappers in Dallas and the name of my vet clinic for boarding
if they needed it. Hope it worked out…???...!!!
BMG: Transition Concern
I
am concerned that these folks are placing cats using BCI paperwork and not
completely following the procedures. The
Barn Cat name as well as my name is associated with that paperwork. I don’t know if there are any legal things I
need to worry about…??? Geez!!!
TRANSITION
UPDATE: Was disappointed on several
levels this week with the relocation done in Decatur with the MCCC cats:
1.
She brought out 2 triple cages for 2 cats each then put it together
incorrectly and it had to be taken apart and corrected.
2.
She did not fill the litter boxes before traveling to the site. The litter she brought just filled them once
and left very little for the change at the one week point.
3.
Feeders were not filled before leaving home. She did not have a scoop or anything like
that and was putting handfuls of cat food into the feeders. PLUS she set up a third can for one cat but
DID NOT HAVE THE FEEDER for that cage.
She did have the waterer. She
found a small frying pan in the shed area and used that for food for that one
cage.
4.
The paperwork was not filled out before leaving home. She sat on the back of her vehicle with the
property owner watching and the wind blowing trying to fill out the forms.
5.
She did not (and has not on other relocations where I was not present)
filled out the paperwork COMPLETELY.
6.
She did not go over the daily care of the cats/caging with the owner AND
the trifold when explains all that was MISSING from the folder she
brought.
7.
She did not have any receipts with her so was unable to just hand him
one. BUT – when the receipts was mailed
she also mailed the missing TRIFOLD that has all the instructions in it.
It
was just one thing after another. I
thought this person was going to be the Barn Cat Savior – but NO – it was so
messy. I was shocked! Now I need to go on many more relocations
with her to make sure all the bases are covered.
Thanks
for following the Barn Cats Blog. Peg
