TRANSITION UPDATE
Relocations: I placed 6 this
week. .
6 Barn
in Wylie (4 from DCL, 2 from GP)
Our Cats after Release: I picked up Bartonville. Cleve was placed there. He does not like other cats and the property
owner only would take 1. He is doing
well. They have put in a cat door about
4 feet off the ground to give him in and out capability. Hope it works out for him.
Calls/Emails: Bad Situation for a
Friendly Cat in Lancaster
Received
a call from a lady who was having to put her father in an assisted living
facility. A friendly cat had shown up
there many months before and now would be abandoned. Also, the daughter has a terminal
illness. His name is Meow-Meow and is a
brown tabby. I told her I would take him
but she would have to deliver him to the vet we use in Coppell. She did that on Monday. He tested negative and now is loose in my
house waiting for an opening at Petco.
Glad I could help – the cat deserves it!
OMG: People Don’t Listen
I
tell people to all PetsMart and Petco locations and ask a manager when adoption
groups come there each Saturday and Sunday.
THEN GO THERE WHEN THE GROUPS ARE THERE. Well, this person went there in the middle
of the week and – SURPRISE – there were no groups there. They are there on the weekend – not mid-week
when everyone is working.
BMG: More Bad Weather
Last
week on Sunday it was severe winds that caused power outages all over the DFW
area. I was meeting the PCFCC folks in
Tioga to pick up equipment. This Sunday afternoon I was in Wylie with 6
cats. When I was just starting my drive
home, the cell went off for a severe weather alert. The problems were in Carrollton/Farmer’s
Branch and I could see them as I approached that area on the Bush toll
road. SO – looked lighter to the north,
so I took the Dallas North Tollway to the Rayburn then headed west. Then the rains started. I exited off the freeway and hid under a
cover area at a bank site. There was
someone else there too. I waited until
the rains calmed down some then headed home.
I got there safe and sound but the rains continued at my home complete
with lighting and thunder. BUT – all is
well.
TRANSITION
UPDATE: I left my final message for The
Feral Cat Ranch mid-week. No
response. I am done.
