Our Cats after Release:  Picked up equipment in 3 locations this week and DID get some pictures.
1.      Whitewright:  Little Kitty, Leo, Mandy, and Thomas were released a week ago.  There are 12’ fences around this property – so do not think they can “run off”.  Leo and Little Kitty became an “item” and have been seen many times always together.  Mandy has been spotted early in the morning in the barn attached to the house.  Thomas has not been seen but I’ll bet he is still around – just not visable.
2.      Blue Ridge:  Murphy, Connor, and Abby were placed here.  All 3 had come from Lewisville Animal Services.  They are doing great.
Abby

                                                                    Connor and Murphy
3.      Prosper:  Hera has made friends with the parents, the kids, and the dog – WAY TO GO HERA!  Those Greek goddess types always make for good friends!

Bad Calls/EMAILS:  Peeing in the House
SPCA called to see if I could take in a cat that had been peeing in his owner’s house.  He does have good taste – it was an oriental rug!  They had done all the tests to see if this is a medical problem – but – nope – it is a behavioral issue.  So, I took him.  I put him in a barn in Melissa.  He used the box here but threw litter everywhere!  We shall see if he uses it in his new barn environment.  Once he is released from the relo cage, it should not be an issue.  WE SHALL SEE!

BMG:  Punctuation is still needed!
You decide:  Received this as an email….
“None in ok not sure if texas come up a vet wants to maybe trap them and spayed and neutered them and put them back wandering the streets”              WHAT?

Also, check out this one – NO PHONE NUMBER, NO CITY, NO NOTHING!!!!!!!
“Hi.  We had a one-year old feral kitten/cat taken from our home who is “going to sleep” soon.  The shelter tells us she can’t be “calmed” so we would like your volunteers to relocate her.  She is a little over a year old in what looks like good health.  Please help.  She is not going to be there much longer.  Thanks.”              Geez!

OK – I have my own street now.  This is in Gunter, TX.

Barn Cat Bash Auction:  Items from Around the World
I like to shop when I travel and always look for interesting things to put on the auction.  This way I get the “thrill of the hunt” without becoming a hoarder.  This event will feature items from Guatemala, Panama, Mexico, Easter Island, Chili, Pitcairn Island, Bora Bora, Moorea, and Ireland.  We will look at the silent auction items this week and the live auction items next week.

Here are 3 necklaces from Bora Bora and Chile and a hat from Pitcairn Island.  ENJOY!

Sterling Silver Necklace Created from a Silver Fork with Lapis Accents (Santiago, Chile)

Shell Necklace set as Flowers (Bora Bora, French Polynesia)

Baseball Cap from Pitcairn Island, Chile where the H.M.S. Bounty Mutineers Settled

Necklace is done with Blue-Colored Seeds/Beans – Very Striking in Person (Santiago, Chile)

Hope you can come to the Bash and “Thanks” for following the Barn Cats blog.
                          See you next week!           Peg
