Bad Calls/Emails: Corsicana Cats UPDATE
BMG (Bitch/Moan/Groan): “Reply All”
OMG (Oh My God): Dead Cats in the Road
Relocations and In
Take: We had
5 placements this week.
2 Barn
in Rockwall County (Candy Cane, Jingle Belle)
1 Warehouse in Farmers Branch (Hercules)
2 Garage
in Arlington (Toulouse, Rogue)
All
our cats going out these cold days/nights are getting winter hidey boxes, rugs,
blankets to cover the cages, and either a heater or a heat lamp.
Our Cats after Release:
1. Wichita Falls: Sent Rose to Wichita Falls with all the
equipment to be a “friend” for Mittens.
Received a text from Eddie that Rose and Mittens are now fast
friends. This is a brick shed with
windows and a heater! I thought Rose
would be a good match with Mittens….glad it worked out!
2. Red Oak: Martha and Lazarus were placed here in an
insulated barn with a donkey.
Unfortunately they have not been seen since the release a week ago. Sometimes they come back and I hope that is
the situation here.
3. Copper Canyon: Topper and Lucy went to this barn that is
just next to the family home. Both are
hanging out but I did not get to see them.
Bad Calls/EMAILS: Corsicana Cats UPDATE
All
9 have checked out free of leukemia and aids, been spayed/neutered, and had
their shots. In the whole bunch only 2
were female. Now I am evaluating them
for degree of friendliness. 3 or 4 are
going next Monday to an adoption group – YEAH!
Hope to get more place for adoption in the upcoming weeks. Several have a diarrhea which we will address
this next week.
BMG: “Reply All”
I
get maybe 50 emails a day. Then there is
something going on like a hoarder house, people begin to email EVERYBODY THEY
CAN to see who can help. Then those 60
people “Reply All” and the irritation begins.
You then lose track of what and when is needed. You cannot tell what is going on or exactly
what is still needed. This does just
does not work. I fell into one of these
messes this week. Some people thing if
they answer the email, they are “helping” with the problem when they are just
making it worse. Well – NO MORE for
me! If you want Barn Cats to help out,
then put one person to contact us so it is not confusing.
OMG: Dead Cats in the Road
I
went to pick up equipment on Sunday. I
saw many dead cats in the roadways over the 3 counties that I covered. THAT MEANS:
They are in heat. Look out – many
kittens will be around in a couple of months.
At various times I see dead coyotes, dead raccoons, dead possums, etc –
when I see this along several road, then they are in heat and just “running”. Guess when the hormones start rushing through
their systems, they forget to look for passing traffic.
Thanks
for following the Barn Cats Blog. Peg
I am so happy that toulouse and rogue have been been placed, fingers crossed theyre happy!!!!
