Our Cats after Release
Bad Calls/Emails:  Birdie Mae -- UPDATE
BMG (Bitch/Moan/Groan:  Signs Only Pointing Left
OMG (Oh My God):  Tinkerbell, Loni, Grace -- UPDATE

Relocations and In Take:   We placed 12 this week.  We are only putting cats in areas with good insulation and ventilation and all have a fan.

5          Adoption Group (5 kittens from Lewisville Shelter)
1          Barn in Azle (Sunny)
4          Barn in Sherman (Ricky, Rudy, Sheila, Juno)
2          Barn in Argyle (Nicole, Sophie)

Our Cats after Release:
1.     Heath:  George and Brittany were placed in this 4-car garage in Heath.  They are hiding in the daytime (asleep in a cool place, I imagine – smart cats) and show up later in the day for food and pets.  Both are doing great!
2.     Sanger:  Birta was placed on a back porch in Sanger.  She is doing well and bring “dead stuff” to her new home.  GOOD WORK!
3.     Argyle:  Heckle, Jeckle, and Jenny went to this workshop behind the family home.  One has been spotted but the others are being illusive.  The food is eaten each night so those kids are still around.

Bad Calls/Emails:  Birdie Mae -- UPDATE
Birdie Mae went “over the Rainbow Bridge” on Saturday morning about 11 am.  This one was hard.  I had the volunteers over for Happy Hour on Friday evening to say “good bye”.  She was purring and so sweet up to the end.  Below is her story from last week’s BLOG.  At least we could give her some good months and a safe place to end her 18 years.  RIP – Birdie Mae!
=========
We received Birdie Mae from an elderly lady in the Bonham area along with 3 others.  “Junior” has gone home with one of our volunteers, “Shirley” is still here, and a younger one went to an adoption group.  Birdie Mae is “older that dirt” 18 years at least but seems in good health.  She is skinny but purrs a lot when she is in my lap.  BUT – last weekend she started peeing everywhere…on rugs, chairs, food bowls, etc.  I took her to the vet and they did blood work.  A cat’s red blood cell count should be 137 – Birdie Mae’s was 12!  Vet could not believe she seems so good but could not prove it by the blood work.  We think the decline has been gradual and her body has just adjusted.  Kidney and liver levels are low as well.  Poos Birdie Mae!  Her end may be soon.  She is so cute and loveable!

BMG:   Signs Only Pointing Left
This seems so weird.  We were in the Azle area and giving thanks that there are green arrow signs with the road names on them.  Then we noticed THEY ONLY WERE POINTING TO THE LEFT!  WHAT?  Of course, the street we needed was on the right so we missed it and had to turn around.  The only thing I can think of is that we were on a county line with one county that does the signs and the other that does not…???   It is always something…

OMG:  Tinkerbell, Loni, Grace – Cats in Van Alstyne
We placed Tinkerbell, Loni, and Grace in a barn in Van Alstyne in October of 2015.  I just received the following update from the property owner:  “Happy to say all three are with us and seem happy as they now will allow my helper pet them?  So much for feral.  Of course, she is very happy about this and we are grateful to have their help.  All three aren’t afraid of being seen finally and they fit right in with the sheep”  YEAH TEAM!  Way to go!

ALSO – check this out – I feel this way most of the time!

Thanks for following the Barn Cats Blog.          Peg
