Our Cats after Release:
1. Van Alstyne: Coffee went to this barn home with Dennis and
Pepsi. They had also gotten a cat from
the Collin County Shelter. Well – Dennis
and Coffee are now in the house and the shelter cat is with Pepsi in the
barn…you never know! Dennis follows the
property owner around like a dog and Pepsi has not even gone NEAR THE
DOOR! The shelter told her their cat was
NOT a barn cat but the cat had a different idea. Geez!
The property owners had built them a “cat house” out of moving boxes…great
idea!
2. Double Oak: Velvet, Prince, and Karrie went to this barn
where the owner raises donkeys. All
three are still in the barn but he hardly sees Velvet. AND – the rats are gone!
3. Burleson: Twix and Snickers went to this garage. They are friendlier cats so both are very obviously
around the property. The property owner
is very happy because there are no longer mouse droppings in her garage.
4. Flower Mound: Freddie went to a backyard situation in
Flower Mound. He has moved into the shed
where the rodents are living – good job!
5. Ovilla: Ernestine and Elaine went to this garage in
Ovilla, I went over on Saturday to move
them to a sun room. Both are doing well. They will spent several days in the sun room
then the pet door will be opened AFTER it quits raining.
6. Oak Point: Zora, Chip, and Eliza went to this barn but unfortunate
the barn owner decided he did not want the cats…so…I picked them up. I will find them another barn where they will
be appreciated!
October Closeout: It was a good month with 62 cats placed in 11 North
Texas counties.

Calls/Emails: Valley View Problem
AGAIN!
I
received a call from a guy in Valley View that both ARF and Barn Cats has
helped out extensively. I have not heard
from this guy for several years. Now he
has 30+ cats and “lots of babies”. I
LOST IT! Why didn’t he call where there was one
litter…not MANY LITTERS! WHAT AN IDIOT! …and he does not see how he is
responsible. Last time I had 3 or 4
triple cages in my family room with moms and nursing kittens – AND WE DON’T DO
KITTENS! So – not this time. I let him have it and he hung up on me. I called ARF and they are going to get a
volunteer who worked with this guy the other time and see if he will go up and
evaluate the situation. There is NO WAY
I am getting involved with this guy again.
I am sooooooo sorry for these cats who have chosen a bad caretaker.
BMG: Mess on Facebook
I
really don’t know what to think about Facebook.
Bottom line: I think it is
dangerous…but can be good to get folks involved to solve a problem. I received an email from a rescuer about a
situation where a husband has thrown out his wife’s 3 declawed cats in
Lewisville. OK – I called the number but
the daughter never called me back. The
next day the mom’s number was now being circulated. BUT – when I called her, she was getting a
trap from animal services to trap one of the cats, the daughter was taking one,
and the other would be going back to her.
ALL THIS WORRY, CALLS, AND EMAILS FOR NOTHING BECAUSE THEY RESOLVED IT
THEMSELVES.
OMG: Halloween Decor
The
volunteers put up the blow up cats when I was coming home from Waxahachie last
weekend. They did a good job!
Thanks
