Relocations:   I placed 10 this week.
2          Barn in Flower Mound (Mary, Martha)
2          Adoption Group (Kit-Kat, Bart)
3          Workshop in Wolfe City (George, Philly, Mika)
3          Tack Room in Cedar Hill (Suzie, Bougie, Eva)

February Closeout:  It was a slow month due to rain and mud but 27 were placed in 4 North Texas counties:  Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Fannin.

Our Cats after Release:   No equipment picked up this week.

Calls/Emails:   Soon to be Abandoned Cats
A Dallas area resident had 9 cats that were keep in-doors.  She was moving in with her dad because she was being evicted.  She was just going to put the cats outside and move off.  I HATE PEOPLE!  A local adoption group rescued the cats and I got 3…but…YES the 3 are semi-feral but have been indoors.  I will have to wait for warmer weather to put them out.  Also, one may have an eye problem.  I will take her into the clinic next week.

BMG:   Tipped Ear – NOT NEUTERED!
Picked up 4 cats at an animal services location.  One had a tipped ear but he still needed to be tested and given shots.  When the clinic knocked him out they found BIG BALLS!   OOPS!   Don’t know how he had a tipped ear but not neutered.  Mystery!

OMG:   Severe Cold Weather
We are about to have temps in the 20’s with wind-chills in the teens.  The Cedar Hill cats went out into a room with a heater.  The Wolfe City cats went into an insulated workshop with a heat lamp.  The only concern is the Flower Mound cats where there is no electricity in the barn.  I purchased some heated disks – you put them in the microwave then into the area with your pet.  They are trying them out.  If this is not a good work-around, I will pick them up and hold them indoor until the cold snap subsides later this coming week.

Randy – RIP
Two week ago, one of my personal cats, Randy, was diagnosed with FIP.  This is a condition that causes fluid buildup in the abdomen.  It is in their system from birth and then causes problems then they are older.  Randy was 16.  He passed away Saturday morning about 8:25.  I was at the vet clinic, holding him when he passed on his own.  I received Randy as a barn cats in 2003 with a sister and brother.  A Ponder location only wanted 2 not 3 – so Randy stayed with me.  That was 16 years ago.  He will be missed!

  1. For my husband and I and our children, we all have a considerable distance to travel to get to the church. From Dubai for Peter and I and 2 of our children in Australia and Northern Ireland. This means we need accommodation either near the church or the reception and often in areas of the country we are unfamiliar with.
