Relocations and In Take
Our Cats after Release
Bad Calls/Emails:  Won’t Wait Until They Get Sick
BMG (Bitch/Moan/Groan):  No Entry This Week
OMG (Oh My God):  Gunter Cats Update

Relocations and In Take:   Placed 4 this week with intake at 4.
2          Barn in Gunter (Toby, Tessa)
            1          Garage in Celina (Nemo)
            1          Backyard in Richardson (Flame)

Our Cats after Release:   Picked up in 3 locations.
1.      Rockwall:  Taco, Rocky, and Grayson went to this garage/barn home.  Taco and Rocky were around for pictures but WOULD NOT STAND STILL!   Blurry shots – sorry!  Grayson (the feral one) is also around but would not come out.  He HAS let a member of the family pet him -- amazing.  Taco is a tabby/white and Rocky is gray/white.

2.      Bartonville:  MacGyver and Chet were placed in this barn.  MacGyver is always around and playing with the Alpacas.  Chet is more elusive but is still around.  The family had moved the equipment to their garage so did not go to the barn for pictures.
3.      Whitewright:  4 white cats from a tire warehouse (Star, Snowball, Kenny, and Lucky) are now living with 3 donkeys and about 30 Great Pyrenees dogs at Bluebonnet Rescue.  There is not a coyote for 30 miles around this property.  I saw Lucky but had left my phone in the truck and did not get a picture.  Glad they are all doing well.

Bad Calls/EMAILS:  Won’t Wait Until They Get Sick!
Received an emails from a lady who started feeding a cat last June when its’ owner passed away.  Now the cat is sick (wheezing, stopped eating, etc – classic upper respiratory infection) and she wants someone to take it.  Well, she says she can get it into a carrier but HAS NOT YET!  AND SHE WAITED UNTIL A HOLIDAY WEEKEND TO DO ANYTHING!   I cannot help that cat until she gets it into a carrier or a trap AND when the vet clinics are open – not a holiday weekend.  We shall see if she follows through…???

BMG:  No Entry this Week – Christmas Season!

OMG:  Gunter Cats Update
I delivered 3 cats to a barn in Gunter last February.  The white one has now appeared on their porch and is getting more friendly each day.

“Pringle” in Whitesboro
We placed “Pringle”, a front-declawed orange/white cat from Bedford Animal Services in a business in Whitesboro.  HE IS GOING GREAT!

Our Cats after Release
Bad Calls/Emails:  4 Friendly Cats
BMG (Bitch/Moan/Groan):  No Entry this Week
OMG (Oh My God):  Carlos in Weatherford

Relocations and In Take:   Placed 1 this week with intake at 1.
            1          Adoption Group (Muffin)

Our Cats after Release:   Picked up in 0 locations.  I left town to go to the San Antonio area for 6 days – so NO ACTION!

Bad Calls/EMAILS:  4 Friendly Cats
While I was out of town, Nancy checked the phone lines – VERY SLOW this week with only 6 messages all week!   Usually get 6 a day!  Plus – one was from Chase Bank and one from Aetna.  BUT – there is always a BUT – one was from someone trying to release 4 friendly cats.  Nancy started in by giving her the 200 to 300 adoption groups in the DFW area AND THEN she hung up.  WELL – GUESS YOU DO NOT NEED OUR ADVISE!

BMG:  No Entry this Week – Christmas Season!

OMG:  Update on Carlos in Weatherford
It appears our Carlos has moved into the house despite that the 2 indoor cats find him objectionable.  He does not understand their ill manners toward him because he LOVES everybody.  Chelsea, a Lab mix, and Bee, a Heeler mix, both love Carlos.  Although he enjoys being inside in the colder weather, he still wants to be outside hunting and lounging in the sun.  GREAT UPDATE FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON!   THANKS Jackie and Carlos!

Blog 12/08/14 to 12/14/14

Relocations and In Take
Our Cats after Release
Bad Calls/Emails:   8-Month Old Cats
BMG (Bitch/Moan/Groan):  Missing Equipment
OMG (Oh My God):  PayPal Scam

Relocations and In Take:   Placed 16 this week with intake at 7.
5          Barn in Pilot Point (Lucy, Belle, Simone, Mercedes, Andrea)
3          Barn in Rockwall (Taco, Rocky, Grayson)
6          Adoption Group (Austin, Teddy, Lola, Morris, Christa, Millie)
            2          Bonham Rescue

Our Cats after Release:   Picked up in 4 locations but only saw one cat in Gordonsville.
1.      Frisco – Leo, Sugar, Monty, Mouser, Marty, and Mandy went to the giant barn.  I saw Monty but not the others.  The food is disappearing so I feel confident the others are still around.
2.      Plano – Squash and Pastel went to this garage in Plano…where the equipment was stolen.   Cats are great – not so much with the caging!
3.      McKinney Area – Nitto and Amy are now living in a playhouse in rural McKinney.  Both are doing well.

 4.    Valley View – Pushy and Tigger were placed in this workshop.  They are GREAT and handling the rodent problem…but they scared the homeowner when getting down Christmas decoration boxes.  The decorations are (however) covered in rodent urine – gross!

Bad Calls/EMAILS:  8-Month Old Cats
Received a call from a lady that had been feeding a cat that had kittens in the spring.  Now they are 8-months old and NOW she is worried.  YES – I’m worried, too!   They will soon be breeding with each other…yes they do that!...and with mom.  Plus she has cancer and cannot drive very far.  It is now our slow season with the holidays and colder weather.  Referred her to Feral Friends for the up-front work – stop the breeding.  Making this worse, she lives in a town with a low-cost spay/neuter clinic.  GET IT DONE WHEN ONE SHOWS UP – IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE!

BMG:  Missing Equipment
The Plano relo location put out the equipment on Thursday for me to pick up.  I got there and the caging was NOT THERE.  He did put it out and now it is gone.  I really think (because it was trash day) that someone thought it was being thrown away.  That size caging is no longer made so it cannot be replaced.  We are out in the cold!  WOW – what next?

OMG:  PayPal Scam
I received 3 emails from “PayPal” this week with an attachment that asked for LOTS OF INFORMATION like my social security number.  I pulled up the website and called Customer Support.  It is a scam.  PEOPLE:  If something does not feel right, DO NOT COMPLETE AND RETURN ANYTHING!   Check it out first – most likely a scam!
