Relocations and In Take:   I placed 1 this week….well it was Thanksgiving after all!
1          Adoption Group (Stacy)

Our Cats after Release:
1.     Celina:  Placed four cats from Irving at this barn at the high school.  All are doing well and there was a DEAD RAT in the main hallway of the barn.  WORKING CATS!
2.     McKinney:  Sara, Cookie, Goosy, and Lil Girl went to this garage attached to the house.  I got to see 3 out of 4 – so that is good.  Mama turns out is friendly.

Calls/Emails:  Panic in Houston
Received a call from a lady who was very hard to follow.  BUT – bottom line, she needs to move some cats from a house that is being foreclosed on that belonged to a relative.  She had an enclosure that is about 10 X 10 feet – so plenty big with a tarp over the top.  She was concerned that the current cats would not get along with the cats that she needs to move…but…they all came from the same location and probably are all related!  I just reassured her and recommended she put a second hidey box/dog house in there with them.  Glad she is worried but it will all work itself out.

BMG:   Adoptable Sick Kittens Discarded!
When I picked up equipment in Celina, there were 3 4-month old kittens that some un-caring person had discarded at the barn.  2 had eye infections and all 3 were sneezing.  WELL – I could not leave them.  I got back to All Care just 15 minutes before they closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Dr. Greg gave them a look-see, Convenia shots, and eye meds.  All are doing well.  I need to get them tested, spayed/neutered, and shots this week.  THEY ARE SOOOOO CUTE and hope they all test negative!

OMG:  Cats in a Blanket
You have probably heard of PIGS IN A BLANKET well this was CATS IN A BLANKET.  The barn owner in McKinney put a moving blanket in the cage with them during their relo period.  When I arrived to get the equipment, two were curled up in the blanket.  I got a picture of one!

OMG (Oh My God):  Super Moon

Relocations and In Take:   I placed 8 this week.
4          Barn in Crossroads (Callie, Cher, Vanilla, Peppermint)
2          Barn in Garland (Kitty, Amanda)
2          Garage in McKinney (Spook, Hilda)

Our Cats after Release:
1.     Ponder:  Honey and Salina went to this barn with longhorns.  Both are hanging out and doing well…but did not see them because the owner brought the equipment to the front porch.  BUMMER!
2.     Fort Worth:  Paxton, Jewel, and Pritti went to this location with several barns and sheds.  All 3 are seen regularly – such great news – and even around their home which they wanted.  I will be picking up the equipment first of the week but it will be a “drive by” with the equipment outside the gate.  I am so glad they are doing well!
3.     Duncanville:  Storm (now Thunder) and Lightening went to this back porch and barn in Duncanville.  Lightening got sick in relo and I picked him up for a Convenia shot and returned him to Duncanville.  That was over a week ago.  I saw both cats when I picked up equipment and got a picture of Thunder behind a trunk.   They are doing well!

Calls/Emails:  How About You Tell Me Where You Are?
Received a call from the 925 area code wanting me to remove some cats.  That is all the info he left.  I know that area code is from California because I have a friend with that area code.  BUT – he could have moved to North Texas and kept that phone number.  I left him a message to go back to the website and view the “OTHER GROUPS” list from the top bar.  That list is by state.  He has not called back….

BMG:   Frequent Flyer Miles for 4 Cats
I had spoken several times to a property owner north and west of Wichita Falls, TX.  That is over our 2-hours travel limit but his wife still works in the DFW area and could return the equipment.  SO – I packed up Zora, Gil, Elza, and Hillman and took off for the Red River.  WELL – both the sheds where he wanted to put the cages were full of other stuff…one has old machine batteries in it…???  SO – we talked around all the options but it was just not going to work out.  He gave me $25 for gas and I began the 2 ½ hour drive back to Lewisville.  Now the 4 cats are demanding their Frequent Flyer Miles.  GEEZ!

OMG:  Super Moon
Sunday night was a Super Moon.  I admit I took this picture off the TV on Monday morning.  BUT – you can still get the effect.  I am amazed that I did not have lots of weird phone calls this week but there was always the unnecessary trip to Wichita Falls to balance it out.

BMG (Bitch/Moan/Groan:  Weather Delays
OMG (Oh My God):  Texoma Cat House Residents

Relocations and In Take:   We placed 21 this week.
4          Cat House at Lake Texoma (Portabello, Mushroom, Moira, Truffles)
6          Barn in Valley View (Trixie, Abby, Spencer, Tina, Chloe, Cody)
8          Adoption Group (6 from LVAS, Sonja, Simon)
2          Barn in Aubrey (Mama, Charlie)
1          Garage/Workshop in Celeste (Chip)

Our Cats after Release:
1.     Rockwall:  Mama (now Miss Kitty) was placed in this backyard situation in Rockwall.  She did not come home for a day or two but is back and doing great with the family and their dog.
2.     Greenville:  Dixie and Pixie went to this front yard in the Greenville area and both are doing well.  There is a dog (now cat) house on the front porch and they are sharing it.
3.     Shady Shores:  John is a “killing machine” for all those mice in their outdoor kitchen area.  WAY TO GO, JOHN...and he has a heated cat house and endless food!  I want that job!
4.     Celeste:  Buddy is doing well and they even requested a second cat.  Took Simon over there on Sunday.

Calls/Emails:  “I don’t want them in a cage!”
I received an email wanting me to take two 7 or 8 year old cats from someone what is moving.  I explained that they would be here in a cage waiting for a barn for them…then they would be in a cage for 2 weeks to get acclimated to their new surroundings/people.  Well, as you can guess – she does not want them in a cage.  “They have a great life here” – GOOD then you stay there with them BUT YOU ARE MOVING AND CANNOT TAKE THEM!  If she wants to decide where to put them and how to do it, then why is she calling someone else to do it for her…???  I don’t get it!  We did not even get this far – but I will not tell her where they are placed…just the city.  She wants to check up on them I am sure.  That is a privacy issue with the barn owners so I am not going to give her that info.  GOOD LUCK, CATS – you may need it.

BMG:   WEATHER DELAYS
It has finally been raining but with major downpours…so there is mud everywhere!    One barn has a 50 yard want to get there – cannot drive up to it.  SOOOOOO – we will just have to wait until things dry out.  We have been stuck in mud several times and it is not pretty!  AAA in East Texas told me “You may have to wait til spring.”   GEEZ!

OMG:  Texoma Cat House Residents
A mom and her 3 older girls went to this backyard location in the Texoma area.  (See placements above).  Here they are in their new digs…all save and sound…and settling in!
