Blog 02/05/18 to 02/11/18

Seeking someone to take over Barn Cats, Inc.:  I would like to officially retire as Executive Director in 2019.  I can retain the fundraising pieces but would like to stop the relocations, equipment pickups, phone calls, and emails…the day-to-day stuff.  I will be available for consultation.  If interested call or email Barn Cats…972-315-2875 info@barncats.org

Calls/Emails:  Shed to be Delivered
We have ordered a special shed to be built for older cats that are living out their lives at Barn Cats, Inc.  It will be placed in Anna and maintained by some folks where I put cats years ago.  The company called on Friday that it is all done…but…the ground is wet so we have to wait until next week.  THEN THE FUN STARTS:  plumbing, insulation, ceiling fan, outside edging so critters cannot get under there, AC/heating unit, wall board, vinyl flooring, etc., etc., etc.  Will give you updates each week.  I purchased an outside light this week with the Texas star on it.  Could not find one with a cat – HA HA!

BMG:   A Week of Delays or Cancellations
#1  This one I can understand.  When the appointment was made to deliver cats, I was told that the birth of a grand-baby was imminent and our day/time may have to be rescheduled.  That happened…and that is OK.  We have rescheduled for next week on Wednesday.

#2  This one – NOT SO MUCH!   I made an appointment to deliver some cats but was called THAT MORNING that her husband was “just not on board”.  REALLY!  Geez !  That one was cancelled so LOOK OUT when the weather warms up and the snakes come out looking for rodents to eat!

OMG:  Grace from the Tri-City Shelter
Grace was originally adopted from the shelter but returned because the people were moving.  You know – I have moved across the country several times and always taken my cats!  BUT – they asked me to take her.  She is a nice black and white cat that was described as a lap cat…not a barn cat for sure.  I asked Casa de Critters to take her on the 30th and she was adopted on the 31st from the local Petco store where they do adoptions.  Here is Grace in our cage in the cat room, lying on her back for a tummy rub.  (Sorry – cannot get photo to flow…maybe next week) – STILL CANNOT GET THAT PHOTO TO FLOW – I GIVE UP!
