1          Barn in Waxahachie (DCL)

Our Cats after Release:   DCL picked up equipment in Waxahachie on Saturday and they took an additional cat from them.  All of the others are hanging out which is good.  I know MCCC picked up some equipment but unsure of the location(s).  Meeting Cindy tomorrow to go on a relo with their cats in the Decatur area.   5 cats going out.

Calls/Emails:  Friendly Cat in Lancaster - UPDATE
Received a call from a lady who was having to put her father in an assisted living facility.  A friendly cat had shown up there many months before and now would be abandoned.  Also, the daughter has a terminal illness.  His name is Meow-Meow and is a brown tabby.  I told her I would take him but she would have to deliver him to the vet we use in Coppell.  She did that on Monday.  He tested negative and now is loose in my house waiting for an opening at Petco.  Glad I could help – the cat deserves it!
UPDATE:  Meow-Meow is still with me.  There has not been an opening yet at Petco.

OMG:  Kittens Everywhere
I am getting several calls a day to take kittens.  We have never taken kittens – they get carried off by a hawk in the daytime or an owl at night.  I recommend talking to adoption groups that are at Petco and PetsMart locations each Saturday and Sunday.  That is the way to get help for kittens.  Kitten season seems to be much later this year…???

BMG:  Stuck in the Mud
Last week when delivering the cats to the Wylie barn, I got stuck in the mud leaving the barn.  The good news is that they had a vehicle that pulled me out.  It is go bad when you are just “spinning your wheels” and going NO WHERE!   Glad it worked out.

TRANSITION UPDATE:  Folks in Garland will be back this week from vacation.  I hope to get them to take in some cats from the Garland shelter.  We have several barns waiting.  I need to tell everyone they cannot go on vacation unless I CAN GO TOO!   HA HA!

Thanks for following the Barn Cats Blog.            Peg

  1. I think events like this really help to improve the overall status of the society. I think lots of people are participated in the GiveLocalAmerica program, an online giving and crowd funding platform. Please update more details regarding this program.jogos online 2019
