Blog 11/06/17 to 11/12/17

Seeking someone to take over Barn Cats, Inc.:  I would like to officially retire as Executive Director in 2019.  I can retain the fundraising pieces but would like to stop the relocations, equipment pickups, phone calls, and emails…the day-to-day stuff.  I will be available for consultation.  If interested call or email Barn Cats…972-315-2875 info@barncats.org

Relocations and In Take:   I placed 11 this week.
1          Garage in Garland (Cowboy) (see BMG)
3          Barn in Argyle (David, Darrell, Dana)
3          Warehouse/Barn in Ovilla (Maggie, Chester, Chrissy)
4          Cat House in Gunter (Elmo, Mick, Moscow, Pennywise)

Our Cats after Release:
1.     Celina:  Midnight, Brona, Stormy, Socks, and Athena went to two separate barns on this property.  All 5 have been spotted at different times.  I even saw a gray one when I was picking up equipment.  She took off through a window when I was coming into the stall to get the equipment.  I DID SEE – RESULTS!

2.     Brazos Point:  Madge, Edwin, and Sylvia went to this garage.  The girls have turned friendly but Edwin is still “a streak through the night”.  BUT – all 3 are still around.
3.     Wills Point:  Wisteria, Scar, Molly, Peachy, Blackie and Patches all went to this garage/workshop.  Only the big orange tabby has not been seen.  The others are all hanging around and two have even tried to get into the house.  WAY TO GO KIDS!

Calls/Emails:  Mom Was Feeding Cats
I have received several calls/emails this week from folks who have had their parent(s) go to assisted living and leave cats around their homes.  Hey, folks:  This did not just happen.  You need to have addressed this before it became an emergency.  We have not entered our “slow” season – getting colder with holidays approaching.  Folks are not thinking about cats/rats/etc.  I have NOTHING scheduled currently for next week.   GEEZ – and a “full house” in the cat rooms.  Also, usually none of mom's cats have been sterilized…so kittens too!  What a mess!

BMG:   She Won’t Leave the Cage
I took Freckles out to a garage in Garland.  The home owner had a warm bed for her and a cat door in the garage door.  Well - Freckles (now Hallo --- delivered on Halloween) will not leave the garage.  OOPS!  Well she wanted another more feral cat and is keeping Hallo.  SO – Cowboy went out to be a friend for Hallo and use that cat door to keep rodents out of her flower beds.  Hope Cowboy will take care of business for her.

OMG:  Jeffy-Jeffy and the Ladder
Jeffy-Jeffy is a GIANT brown tabby what came to Barn Cats several years ago from a terrible hoarding situation raided by Feral Friends.  We got him and his brother Crinkles.  Neighbor Nancy is currently over at my house a lot doing the BIG CLEAN before the Bash on November 24th.  She is using the big ladder to clean light fixtures and the ceiling fans.  She is the QUEEN OF CLEAN!   So, Jeffy-Jeffy has taken over the ladder.   Take a look…

Thanks for following the Barn Cats Blog.            Peg
