Blog 11/27/17 to 12/03/17

Seeking someone to take over Barn Cats, Inc.:  I would like to officially retire as Executive Director in 2019.  I can retain the fundraising pieces but would like to stop the relocations, equipment pickups, phone calls, and emails…the day-to-day stuff.  I will be available for consultation.  If interested call or email Barn Cats…972-315-2875 info@barncats.org

Our Cats after Release:
1.     Argyle:  Darrell, Dana, and David went to this barn home.  All 3 have been spotted and are hanging out in the barn.  PLUS – the rat droppings are gone!   Good Job!
2.     Alba:  Josie and Jamie went to this shed next to the house.  Not only are they still around, but have found 4 friends to bring home.  Current owners think the former owners moved and left those 4 cats…but…they are back and hanging out.  Everyone is getting along, too.
3.     Prosper:  Stormy is doing well in this garage in Prosper.  She is not staying in the feral house they have…but is still coming back to eat.  So…all is well.
4.     Desoto:  Amy, Abby, Amanda, and April went to this school ag barn.  I saw a couple of them when I picked up equipment.  Cats are out and rodents are gone.
5.     Ovilla:  Maggie, Chester, and Crissy went to this barn that is used for storage.  They are coming and going out a window.  All have been spotted, the food is disappearing each day and the rodent droppings are much less.
6.     Garland:  Cowboy went to be a friends for Hallo – short for Halloween.  She stays in the garage and he comes and goes through the cat door.  Seems to be working out…great!
7.     Rockwall:  Tom Smokey, Frances and Patches went to this workshop shed.  All 4 were from Granbury.  The property owners are very happy – no more rats scratching at night in the walls and roof.  YES!

Calls/Emails:  Cats at Car Dealership
Hummm!  Rodents eat car wiring and air filters.  Those cats were keeping that under control – BUT – someone wants them gone.  They are ending up at Barn Cats after sterilization, shots, and testing.  I am placing them in barns, garages, and sheds.  I hope that dealership is overrun with rodents.  They don’t realize how good they have it.  Wait until those insurance claims start.

BMG:   Cat with Bad Eye
Well, I got a cat from a local Animal Services that has a cloudy eye.  Can that cat see out of it…???  But, instead of putting it out in a colony, they gave it to Barn Cats.  WHAT?  It is safer in a barn environment that a colony?  At any rate, I placed it in that garage in Wills Point.  It think he will be safe there.  Good Luck, Marty!

OMG:  Cats Cleaned Out a Neighbor, Too!
Cats I placed in Wills Point have also spread out to a neighbor’s property.  An elderly lady lives there and “WAS” concerned with rodents all over her yard, shed and house.  Now it is just RAT PARTS that are all over…HA HA!  Our guys are “taking care of business” for her, too!

Thanks for following the Barn Cats Blog.            Peg
