TRANSITION UPDATE -- Truck to be Sold
Relocations: Got several people out on vacation so no barns this
week that I know of. Had one scheduled
but the electrician did not show up so the cats could not be placed. He is rescheduled for 8/14.
Our Cats after Release: No info this week.
Calls/Emails: New Groups Willing to
Barn
There
are two new groups on the list at the top of this doc…Hunt County Pets Alive
(she is willing to go in and around Hunt County and even into East Texas) and
SPCA of Texas where they have some cats that need barns. They started a “farm cat” program but are
having trouble finding locations to put them.
I am certainly willing to help “if” they are available via phone…we
shall see…
OMG: Property Location in Oklahoma - UPDATE
Received
a call from a large farm/ranch just over the Red River. The lady was having hip replacement so ask me
to call her the end of the month. I did
– but – she got an infection in that hip and it still has now been replaced
because the infection needs to be cleared up first. GEEZ!
I had never heard of this before.
She had a trip to the emergency room, various IV’s put in and is still
being treated. BUT – she still wants
the 6 cats. I hope to get equipment up
there soon even if we take the cats later.
UPDATE: Took equipment
up there on Sunday this week. It is a
really nice situation for the cats. We will
be taking 7 up there the first of September.
Now something else has come into play:
The wife’s dad passed away this week….geez! But the barn is beautiful and the tack room
will be air-conditioned and heated with a cat door. ALL GOOD!
BMG: Finally Getting Some
Barns - UPDATE
Had
one email on Friday in Dallas and one on Saturday in Copper Canyon. Contacted DCL to get both locations
cats. The Oklahoma location will be getting
6 – 4 from PCFCC and 2 from Garland. I
need to get all of the equipment for those relocation out of my house so I can
begin to clean up. Messy! UPDATE: The Oklahoma barn is willing to take a
3rd cat from Garland so 7 will be going up there in September. Also have a barn in Sanger waiting for them
to come back from vacation, one in Frisco that has been referred to SPCA, and
one in Midlothian to be handled by DCL.
TRANSITION
UPDATE: The Barn Cat Ford Transit
Connect will be checked out this week and “un-wrapped” so I can sell it to
Animal Allies of Texas. The only problem
here is that this needs to be done during a work week (which may be a problem
for them) AND I am 2 counties away from their treasurer. She will have to have someone bring her here
to Denton County so we can do the sale and transfer the title. Don’t know how this will work out but we are
working on it. I don’t have anyone that
could follow me to her county for the transfer – everyone I know that could do
that during a work week is currently out of town. The un-wrap will be traumatic. I probably will cry and cry.
