2.     The Barn Cat mailing has changed:  PO Box 12642, Dallas, TX  75225

TRANSITION UPDATE

Relocations:   Placed 3 this week.
3          Workshop in Gordonsville (3 by MCCC)

Our Cats after Release:    Van Alstyne 3 Cats Doing Well
3 cats were place by MCCC in Van Alstyne in a workshop situation.  He does not see them but the food is disappearing and the litter boxes is used…so…all good news.

Calls/Emails:  Extreme Situations
1.     Many cats have been abandoned when a person moved out in the Decatur area.  GEEZ == take them with you or make arrangements.  Don’t just move out and leave the mess for someone else.  This neighbor is concerned and cannot afford to feed them.  I gave her several recommendations/phone numbers.  Hope it works out for the cats.
2.     A second situation is that an elderly person died and the cats are left on their own.  This is another rural situation in Hunt County.  I referred the caller to Hunt County Pets Alive – hope they can help out.
Both of the above were 15 to 20 cats each and, of course, not sterilized.  There are spay/neuter clinic everywhere…JUST USE THEM!

OMG:  Still No Barn Calls
Only received one this week.  I guess it is the weather….nothing else to blame it on…???  I am going to do a mailing in the next week or 2 and hope that generates some business.  There is supposed to be a cold front headed this way.   Hope the RATS START RUNNING!

BMG:  Sick Cats in Anna
3 of those elderly cats are now having health problems.  It is usually kidney or liver failure that gets older cats.  2 are having kidney problems but are on medication and responding.  Sorry to be having the Anna folks saddled with the responsibility of vet visits.   We pay the bills but they do the appointments and medications.   MANY THANKS, Deni and Aaron!

Thanks for following the Barn Cats Blog.            Peg
