OMG (Oh My God):  Dog in Back of a Pickup…with GOGGLES!

Relocations and In Take:   I placed 14 this week.  Weather has been a problem. All cats are being placed with locations with heaters and/or heat lamps.
3          Warehouse in Gainesville (Dougie, Star, Maizy)
1          Adoption Group (Choco)
1          Indoor Adoption (Mama Mae) – see below
4          Barn in Crossroads (Elmer, Elvira, Jeremiah, Judy)
3          Barn in Rockwall (Hattie, Thomas, Carly)
2          Workshop in Double Oak (Dot, Dash)

The warehouse in Gainesville has such a bad rodent problem, that a dog has even been catching them!

Our Cats after Release:
1.     McKinney:  Hilda and Spook were placed is this garage with a third cat that had come from the Collin County Animal Shelter.  Both our girls are still around but the third cat has not been spotted.  Thank you, Hilda and Spook!
2.     Justin:  Brandi and Chance went to his barn with no animals but a large RV in it.  They are doing great.  The “barn” is insulated and it should work well for them.

Calls/Emails:  Limping Feral Cat
You know it is hard treating any feral cat with an injury.  Well, this one disappeared from a colony but returned several days later…LIMPING!  The colony provider was trying to trap all the cats and get them to me and this one was the last.  I took the cat to All Care and you can see the break in the x-ray below.  We had the leg amputated on Thursday and I brought her home on Friday.  A co-worker or the trapper has agreed to take in Mama Mae and give her a safe, in-door only home…YEAH!   We loaned the family a cage, etc. and they took her home on Sunday.

BMG:   Runaway Cat
A fuzzy, black feral was being delivered to Barn Cats on Wednsday afternoon.  The lady had him in a cage…not a carrier.  The bottom slipped out as she was coming up my front walk and the cat got out the bottom of the cage.  HE IS GONE!   She walked the neighborhood for two days but was not able to see him.  Food has disappeared from my front potch the last couple of nights but it is too cold to trap – in the teens at night!  But – I do nto know it he is the one eating the food or another cat or a ratcoon…which has happened.  SO – we shall see.

OMG:  Dog in the Back of a Pickup with GOGGLES!
Well just when you think you have seen everything, I was behind a truck with a dog in the back wearing GOGGLES!  He was strapped in, too.  The good news is that we got stopped for a light and I was able to snap a photo.  Take a look…

Thanks for following the Barn Cats Blog.          Peg
