Blog 04/10/17 to 04/16/17

Seeking someone to take over Barn Cats, Inc.:  I would like to officially retire as Executive Director in 2018.  I can retain the fundraising pieces but would like to stop the relocations, equipment pickups, phone calls, and emails…the day-to-day stuff.  I will be available for consultation…  If interested call or email Barn Cats…972-315-2875 info@barncats.org

OMG (Oh My God):  Louisiana Cats All Placed

Relocations and In Take:   I placed 14 this week.  Bad weather delayed some placements.
3          Barn in Argyle (Shorty, Sampi, Jello)
2          Workshop/Barn in Lillian (Lil Cupcake, Agave)
3          Shed in Joshua (Victoria, Beau, Marcos)
4          Workshop in Ponder (Marty, Spooky, Isabella, Bruce)
2          Workshop in Double Oak (Cobbler, Pringle)

Our Cats after Release:
1.     Forney:  Mr. Fluffy, Hannah, and Charlie went to this garage workshop.  They have a window to come and go and all have been spotted roaming the property.  GREAT!
2.     Tom Bean:  Kia, Sylvee, and Frank went to this garage.  Sylvee has become friendly with the wife and Frank with the husband.  Kia is being illusive but I will bed is still around.
3.     Hickory Creek:  Armani and Jordache went to a small apartment-like building behind the main house that is used for storage.  Both are still around and were seen the morning that I picked up the equipment.
4      Argyle:  Lillian and Jim went to this family barn but both took off.  It is a safe place and the folks nice…but…cat logic!   You never know.  I have offered the owner   additional cats and she is thinking about it.
5.     Avalon:  Dora, Pinguino, and Archie went to this family barn.  They are seeing “signs” of them but have not spotted them.  Food is disappearing and rodents are less.
6.     Barry:  Buttons, Ninja, Bitty, Bud, Charlie, Mister, and Missy went to this shed where the family runs their organic cattle business.  They raise the beef, slaughter it, and sell it at a local weekend market.  Business is booming!  Two cats are living behind a freezer and two are in the rafters.  The others have moved to a barn that is next door.  So – all is well in Barry.

Calls/Emails:  The Power of Cat Poop
Received a call from a guy building a home in Double Oak.  He is living in an RV while this project is being completed.  Well – the RATS are running up and down the walls and under the RV at night.  I took him 2 cats for the workshop and a whole lot of cat poop to thrown around the trailer.  I’ll bet that worked!   Remember the guy in Irving with the hoarder across the street?  His rats were gone before he released the cats at 2 weeks because I told him to spread around CAT POOP.  I just need to figure out a way to MARKET that!

BMG:   Signs Issues AGAIN?
State Hwy 121 is torn up north of Melissa toward Bonham.  So…There is an outter loop road that goes around all that off I-75.  Now that area is also being widenned but there are still signs out with road names.  The Collin County Outter Loop road is always marked off of I-75 – BUT NOT NOW GOING NORTH!   Of course I missed it, took the next exit 455, and turned around.  IT WAS MARKED GOING SOUTH!   BUMMER!   Here we go again!

OMG:  Louisiana Cats All Placed
I took in 13 from Louisiana that were left over from the floods last year.  That was on Friday March 31st.  All have been placed now and all in good locations.  BEST OF LUCK, KITTIES!

Thanks for following the Barn Cats Blog.            Peg
