Blog 04/30/18 to 05/29/18

Seeking someone to take over Barn Cats, Inc.:  I would like to officially retire as Executive Director in 2019.  I can retain the fundraising pieces but would like to stop the relocations, equipment pickups, phone calls, and emails…the day-to-day stuff.  I will be available for consultation.  If interested call or email Barn Cats…972-315-2875 info@barncats.org

Our Cats after Release:
1.     Fort Worth:  Rainbow went to this home garage.  She turned out to be TOO FRIENDLY – rubbing around the homeowner’s legs and almost making her trip.  SO – I got her back and placed Honey and Queenie there.
2.     Celina:  Linden, Micah, and Kennedy went to this horse boarding barn.  All are doing well.  The black one got out of the caging but has sense been seen on the property.  They have a donkey so all should be well there.
3.     Flower Mound:  Matt and Sausage went to this backyard shed.  They DESTROYED the cage probably every-other-day so the property owner was glad when he could release them.  Both are around and doing well.
4.     Prosper:  Tinker and Tailor were placed in this barn home.  Tinker is no longer around but Tailor has taken up with their other barn cat, Thomas.  ALL GOOD!
5.     Double Oak:  Randy and Ronny went to this backyard shed.  Ronny took off but Randy is still around.  They asked for another cat – this time more friendly.  I took Thor there.  Hope everyone learns to be friends.  We shall see…
6.     Argyle:  Prince and Princess went to this goat/horse barn.  All is well and a baby goat was born during the time they were caged.  See papa, mama, and baby…

Calls/Emails:   Wrong Address but Met the Neighbors
I went to Haslet with Mama Kitty and Dulce.  I pulled up into the driveway and a guy came out from the open garage door.  OOPS – wrong house!   The good news is that her phone number was correct and the problem was easily corrected.

BMG:   RAIN – RAIN – and MORE RAIN!
I was going to Emory on Friday but the weather forecast changed to be bad on Friday.  I got hold of the son of the family and rescheduled the cat delivery.  All was great and I got the cats delivered without incident…but…ON THE WAY BACK!   Mayor Storm!   I survived and even made it to the Russell Stover Warehouse in Terrell to get some chocolates for the up-coming auction.

OMG:  Copperhead Snake in the House!
This is my worst nightmare!  A snake in the house – AND the mom was the only one home.  They have 5 kids who were all in school – a good thing!  The mom got the snake out of the house and killed it in the backyard.  She does not know HOW IT GOT INTO THE HOUSE!  That is even more scary!

Thanks for following the Barn Cats Blog.            Peg
